Wal-Mart Plans Draws Friends and Foes

New Hampshire is home to 26 Wal-Mart stores, and the company wants to open another two. One would be in Nashua, the other in Hillsboro.
Wal-Mart is the world’s biggest retailer, and when it talks about coming to a new town, it often stirs controversy as large as the big-box stores themselves.

High Court Rules Out Juvenile Death Penalty

A death penalty ruling by the US Supreme Court will have an effect in New Hampshire. The high court has ruled that executing people who committed their crimes when they were under 18…..constitutes cruel and unusual punishment. The 5 to 4 decision invalidates laws in 19 states, including NH, which allow the execution of minors.
