Olympian Penny Pitou

Penny Pitou was on the US skiing team in two Winter Olympics and won two silver medals in the 1960 games. Today she owns Penny Pitou travel agency and leads group tours to to Europe for skiing and hiking. She'll talk about her Olympic experiences, the rest of her successful skiing career, and her life after the Olympics.

Changing the Rules for Independent Voters

This week, the New Hampshire House approved a bill that would require independent voters who choose a party affiliation on primary day to keep that affiliation for about three months. John Walters discusses the bill with Jack Pratt, a Democrat from Walpole, and William O'Brien, a Republican from Mont Vernon.

NH vs VT: Is Business Greener in the Granite State

Towns along the Connecticut River have battled one another for years.

Their goal is to attract new businesses to their side of the New Hampshire-Vermont border.

Most people give New Hampshire the competitive edge.

The Washington, DC-based National Tax Foundation ranks New Hampshire fifth in the nation for its business climate.

Vermont scores a dismal 45th.

But as the Vermont Standard's Kevin Forrest has learned, sometimes the differences are not always so clear cut.

SB 110 - Let the Battle Begin!

SB-110 was a bill designed to attract more health insurers to New Hampshire, and it's done that. But one year later, the law's critics say it's also caused skyrocketing health premiums. now, a movement is gearing up to repeal it. We'll look into SB 110 one year later, where it's suceeding, where it's not and the role health insurance plays in Granite State business. Laura's guests are. Senator Margaret Wood Hassan, Democratic State Senator from Exeter who's sponsoring SB 118, a bill that would repeal certain provisions of SB 110. Rep. John Hunt, State Representative from Rindge. Rep. Hunt was the Chair of the committee that passed SB 110 and the House sponsor of a bill to fix SB 110. Ray White, President of Cornerstone Benefit and Retirement Group Inc., a Bedford based company that provides benefits to small businesses.
