 Chandler Contributions Raise Tax QuestionsBy Dan Gorenstein on Tuesday, September 28, 2004.House Speaker Gene Chandler's has recently admitted he's received nearly 64 thousand dollars from annual fundraisers over the last four years. Chandler says he's used the proceeds to pay for gas, new tires, and possibly his mortgage. The Speaker says he considers the contributions gifts. But New Hampshire Public Radio's Dan Gorenstein looks at whether these donations are gifts, or something else entirely. listen:
