But in Maine this summer, two dozen 20-somethings are undertaking what's believed to be one of the most aggressive voter registration drives that state has ever seen. So far, the non-partisan campaign by the Maine People's Resource Center says it has signed up 4300 new voters since June. And as Maine Public Radio's Susan Chisholm reports they have an ambitious goal over the next two months. And for the first time in more than a decade, Democrats are outraising Republicans. Presidential challenger John Kerry and his Democratic party have raised just over 290 million dollars, 20 million more than President Bush and the GOP. And as NHPR's Mark Bevis reports, the Granite State is following suit. |
