Stephanie Voss Nugent has worked hard to preserve the legacy of Celia Thaxter. Stephanie is the founder and executive director of ACT ONE, Hampton Summer Theatre. Six years ago, she created a multimedia, one-woman show which celebrates the life of Thaxter and her beloved Isles of Shoals. Of Pirates and Poets takes to the stage once again this summer on June 24th and 25th. Tickets at 329-6025.

Emergency Contraception

Both the House and the Senate passed a bill that would allow pharmacists to sell emergency contraception to women without a doctor's prescription. Governor Benson vetoed the bill, but 2/3 support in both the House and the Senate would make the bill law. To talk about emergency contraception, Trish is joined by Jennifer Frizzell, public affairs director for Planned Parenthood of Northern New England and Phyllis Woods, Republican State Representative from Dover. We will also hear from Ron Petrin, pharmacist at the Bedford Pharmacy and commissioner with the New Hampshire Board of Pharmacy.

Lakes Region Towns to Buy Water Company

While most towns are looking for ways to cut costs and save money, Tilton and Northfield are bucking the trend.

They're planning to buy their local water company.

The towns are following Nashua's lead.

But while Nashua and the Pennichuck Corporation remain mired in a heated legal battle, the lakes region sale looks like it will go smoothly.
