Governor Benson and his Prescription Drug Plan

Host Laura Knoy comes back for one day to talk to Governor Craig Benson about his prescription drug plan. The governor has been pushing to allow Granite staters to access cheaper medicines over the internet from Canada. He says that re-importing drugs from the Great White North will empower those who need these drugs the most, yet critics have warned about the plans safety and actual affordability. Laura's guests are Governor Craig Benson, 2nd District Congressman Charles Bass and Charles Arlinghaus, President of the Josiah Bartlett Center.

A Blues Legend

Luther "Guitar Junior" Johnson is a renowned blues singer and guitarist. He was a long time member of the Muddy Waters band and he's traveled the world with his own band, the Magic Rockers. He says from Shanghai to Boston, people love the blues and love to dance. He grew up a share cropper?s son in Mississippi, but now he makes his home in the rolling hills of Bennington, NH.
Luther will be performing at the
RynFest Blues & Funk Festival at the Cheshire Fairgrounds in Swanzy on July 18th.

Both Sides Brace For Ed Funding Vote

The Karner Blue Needs Volunteers - and Money

Just a couple years ago, the state butterfly had all but disappeared from New Hampshire. The Karner blue thrived in pine barrens from Nashua to Canterbury, but development and overgrown pine forests reduced its habitat. Efforts to save the tiny, silver-blue butterfly are finally showing results. But as New Hampshire Public Radio's Raquel Maria Dillon reports, funding for the habitat restoration program is being held up.
