Southern NH Towns Rethink Town Meetings

Towns in southern New Hampshire continue to grow. Some are now as large as many of the state’s cities. But their town meeting style of government has remained the same for centuries. And this year some residents and selectmen in a couple of those towns are thinking about change.

Littleton Divided over Shopping Center Plan

Littleton voters will weigh in next week on the fate of a controversial development proposal.

Connecticut-based Konover and Associates
wants to build a shopping center on a sixty-acre lot next to Interstate 93.

Some residents say the project would cement Littleton's status as a retail destination.

Opponentssay it's too big for this small North Country town.
