Milford Worries about Growth

Like much of southern New Hampshire, the town of Milford is worried it might be growing too fast.

And the town's planning board is considering its options, including limiting development.

It's a short term solution, but town officials want some breathing room to figure out how to solve what they see as a long term problem.

Iraq and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Approximately one in five combat troops returning from Iraq suffers from post-traumatic stress, major depression and other mental problems. We'll talk with Dr. Matthew Friedman, the head of The National Center for Post-Traumatic Disorder about the alarming figures and their implications.

The Ratings Game

Movie makers these days seem to be pushing the envelope, getting films with sex, swearing and violence rated for younger audiences. We're asking if the labels have lost their meaning or if this just might be a reflection on today's more permissive society. Laura's guests are David Gonthier, Professor of Film Studies at Keene State College. He has published film criticism in the International Film Dictionary and is currently working on a book on prison films due out in 2006. He has a Masters in film study. She's also joined by Garen Daley, Film Reviewer living in Gilmanton and Artistic Director of the Dedham Community Theatre in Dedham, Massachusetts.
