ArchivesNH Is Part of Regional Plan to Curb CO2By David Darman on Thursday, December 30, 2004.Representatives from 189 nations met earlier this month in Argentina. They'd come to discuss global warming and devise strategies for lowering carbon dioxide emissions. The talks were the latest round of the Kyoto Protocol, the international agreement to reduce greenhouse gases. The United States has not signed the protocol. But nine northeastern states, including New Hampshire, don't want to be left out. They have banded together to try to come up with their own regional plan. NHPR's David Darman reports. |
