Attorneys Square Off in State Senate Race

District 12, which includes part of Nashua is the site of one of the most contested races for state senate. The incumbent Republican retired, leaving an open seat in the moderate district along the state's southern border. Two well financed candidates, both lawyers, have staked out quite similar positions on most issues, with one notable exception. New Hampshire Public Radio's Dan Gorenstein reports.

Reverse the Curse!

The Red Sox haven't won the World Series since 1918, when Babe Ruth was traded to the Yankees, starting the infamous "curse". This year, the Red Sox beat the Yankees in a historic seven game pennant showdown to make it to the World Series against the Cardinals. Could this be the year that the curse is reversed? Laura's guests are Vin Sylvia, Deputy Managing Editor of Sports for the Manchester Union Leader, and Bill Littlefield, author and veteran sports commentator and host of NPR's "Only a Game".

Host John Walters talks with Farley about the movie marathons he holds and the books he and two other horror film critics have produced as a result of watching 21 films in 48 hours. Farley is the co-author of two books Shock December and Shock July featuring reviews of such horror greats as "The Jar" and "Silent Night, Deadly Night II."
