School Test Scores Mixed

New test scores for schools are out today. The results show modest gains in some areas but slightly lower scores in others.

The climate in which state education officials announced the latest numbers is different than in the past. With the arrival of the new federal law, No Child Left Behind, schools now face real consequences if they fail to make sufficient improvement from year to year.

The NH Democratic Party

New New Hampshire Democrats are less likely to be blue collar workers and more likely to be a more diverse mix. We'll look at how the Democratic Party is changing here and how the Democratic Presidential Candidates are trying to appeal to both the old and new kind of Democrat. Laura's guests are Mark Fernald, lawyer from Peterborough and member of the NH Progressive Network; State Representative Peter Sullivan (D), member of the Democratic Leadership Council, and Dante Scala, Associate Professor of Politics at St. Anselm College and research fellow at the NH Institute of Politics. Helping Those with Brain Injuries

People with brain injuries often go without the support and therapy they need. David Krempels knows this first-hand. He barely survived a traumatic injury in 1992. He was one of the lucky ones. He staged a remarkable recovery and he won a big liability award. He?s put the money to use helping others with brain injuries through the Krempels Foundation. The foundation has a grant program and Steppingstones, a place for brain injured individuals to meet and participate in various activities.
