New Election Law Has Loophole Say Democrats

Governor Craig Benson allowed an election reform bill to become law without his signature yesterday/this week.

But Democrats accuse Benson and the Republicans of opening a political loophole instead. They say the new law allows staffers in the governor’s office and the Legislature to campaign using taxpayer money.

14 AG'S ASK GREGG TO STOP MTBE RELIEF BILL

The Attorneys General of New Hampshire and thirteen other states have sent a letter to Senator Judd Gregg.

The letter asks Gregg to help derail a part of the Energy Bill.

The bill would shield MtBE manufacturers from prosecution when the chemical contaminates drinking water supplies.

Lawmakers Reach Accord On Budget

House and senate negotiators agree on a new state budget. The deal cuts about 50 million dollars from the package passed by the Senate, but remains about 50 million dollars more costly than what Governor Craig Benson has said he'd be willing to tolerate.
