NEW HAMPSHIRE LOST A COLLEGE TODAY

BUT IT GAINED A UNIVERSITY.

GOVERNOR CRAIG BENSON TODAY SIGNED LEGISLATION OFFICIALLY CHANGING THE NAME OF PLYMOUTH STATE COLLEGE TO PLYMOUTH STATE UNIVERSITY.

RETHA FIELDING IS A VICE PRESIDENT AT PLYMOUTH.

SHE TELL'S NEW HAMPSHIRE PUBLIC RADIO'S MARK BEVIS, THAT SCHOOL OFFICIALS ARE VERY HAPPY WITH THE CHANGES.

NH Americorps Volunteers May Lose Funding

The national Americorps program currently provides 260 volunteers for community service across New Hampshire.

Local Americorps officials learned recently they may have to eliminate three-quarters of those positions this fall.

We're First in the Nation on Motorcycles too

The state of New Hampshire is first when it comes to presidential primaries- and motorcycles. According to statistics complied by the Motorcycle Industry Council, New Hampshire has more motorcycles per person than any other state. And that's despite New England's chilly weather.
New Hampshire Public Radio's Raquel Maria Dillon wanted to find out why.
