In the 1980?s, Martin Marklin started decorating candles in his parent?s St Louis basement. Some twenty years later, Marklin Candle Design is the only company that provides hand dipped and decorated liturgical candles to Catholic churches and others. With Easter around the corner this is their busiest time of year. Nitrogen Pollution Still Plagues New EnglandBy Mark Bevis on Wednesday, April 16, 2003.The folks who brought the issue of acid rain to national attention say the problem isn't over. Scientists at the Hubbard Brook Research Foundation have published a new study showing that nitrogen pollution is seriously damaging our forests, lakes and streams. In addition, excess nitrogen is choking our coastal waters and killing fish. Kathy Fallon Lambert is Hubbard Brook's Executive Director. She describe the study's findings to NHPR's Mark Bevis. |
