NH Lawmakers to Hear Right to Work Bill

Lawmakers are scheduled to hear testimony tomorrow/today on a bill to make New Hampshire a so-called “right to work” state.

Proponents want to stop unions from collecting fees from non-union workers who enjoy union benefits.

Organized labor charges the bill is part of a national effort to weaken the labor movement.

A Southern Writer Living in New Hampshire

As a Greek child in the segregated South, Cleopatra Mathis found herself caught between two races. Today she finds herself as a Southern writer living in New Hampshire. She has just received her second NEA fellowship and her most recent book, "What to Tip the Boatman" is now out in paperback. She joins John Walters to talk about discovering poetry for the first time and finding a voice of her own.
