Political Ads in New Hampshire and Iowa

A communications professor from Iowa and a communicatios professor from New Hampshire join Morning Edition Host Lisa Peakes to talk about the political ads that have hit the airways lately.

They've both been keeping online journals at NHPR.org, where they compare notes about the Democratic presidential candidate ads they've been seeing in their respective states.

It?s part of NHPR's Primary Front Line Pen Pals project.

State Efficiency Commission Releases Report

It advises lawmakers to make changes in many areas of state government.

And it promises savings of 417 million dollars over the next 5 years.

Governor Benson's Plan to Get Drugs from Canada

Governor Craig Benson says he will set up a state program to import prescription drugs from Canada.

Benson's proposal is opposed by federal officials, but the governor says he will flout Washington to save money for New Hampshire citizens.

Dems Debate in Durham

The nine Democratic candidates for President faced off at UNH last night.

Most of the ninety minute debate centered on the war in Iraq.

With less than 50 days before the election, a recent poll suggests about one quarter of likely voters remain undecided.

New Hampshire Public Radio's Dan Gorenstein spoke with some still uncommitted after the debate.
