ArchivesFrom the MailbagBy Eric Woolson on Tuesday, November 18, 2003.One reader has wondered about my comment, "Look for Dean to drop even more in the weeks ahead." The question: Why do you say that? What evidence can you cite, or reasoning can you give to back this claim up? (OK, that's actually two questions, but I used to be a reporter and we're famous for saying, "Just one more question," and then asking three.) The reader concludes, "Also, what do you think accounts for the drop in Dean's numbers and rise in Gephardt's? Reading the Nov. 17th entry, it stated that Gephardt has been very aggressive in his print and TV ads in Iowa. This may account for changing numbers." Supreme Ct RulingBy Mark Bevis on Tuesday, November 18, 2003.New Hampshire's gay and lesbian community is applauding yesterday's Supreme Court decision in Massachusetts. Justices there have ruled that it is a violation of the state's constitution to deny same sex couples the right to marry. Today's ruling in the Bay State follows a similar decision in Vermont three years ago. But as New Hampshire Public Radio's Mark Bevis reports, gays and lesbians in New Hampshire are taking a different tack. |
