ArchivesSenator John SununuBy Laura Knoy on Monday, October 27, 2003.NH Retirement System Avoids Costly Funding SchemeBy David Darman on Monday, October 27, 2003.Most state retirement systems have suffered financial losses in the last few years. Rubber Chicken and Few CandidatesBy Beth Todgham on Monday, October 27, 2003.My husband and I went to the New Hampshire Democratic Party's Jefferson & Jackson dinner last Thursday night. I was hoping that it would attract some of the candidates, but in fact, only Wesley Clark showed up. There were, however, throngs of supporters waving signs outside the Center of New Hampshire and wearing buttons for their chosen candidate inside. The crowd was told that it was the largest dinner in recent history. Note from the MLK CenterBy Rosalyn Middleton on Monday, October 27, 2003.I was at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center last week. A few of the regulars talked about their candidates of choice and five out of five picked Dean. These are women who are all supporting their families essentially alone and saw higher learning as a necessity. They are in their early to late forties and are politically aware. The concensus was that Dean had practical experience as a govenor dealing with domestic issues (that being of greater concern at the moment for them). The Center director, Mary is a bootstraps individual now working towards her PhD who thinks Dean is smart, definitely smarter than the present resident of Pa. Ave. and that he has no ax to grind on his fathers behalf. Rev. Gene RobinsonBy John Walters on Monday, October 27, 2003.The election of Rev. Gene Robinson as bishop of New Hampshire's Episcopal Diocese has rocked the church here and abroad. Robinson about faith, sexuality, and church politics. The audio available here is an extended version of the interview.
