Right Place, Right Time

Concord resident Norm Abelson started out as a journalist. He then spent most of the 60's in Washington as a political aide and was an eyewitness to many of the key moments of the decade. He?s published a collection of autobiographical essays called "Right Place, Right Time," which include frank accounts of a battle with depression, and his long marriage to a Holocaust survivor.
Norm is teaching a 6-week course on memoir writing through the NH Historical Society starting January 9. Information: 856-0608

Legislative Preview

Maps and History at the Tuck Library

PEOPLE HAVE BEEN DRAWING MAPS OF NEW HAMPSHIRE SINCE THE EARLIEST DAYS OF EUROPEAN SETTLEMENT.

AND OVER THOSE 300 YEARS, THE STATE HAS CHANGED A GREAT DEAL.

SO HAVE THE MEANS, AND THE MOTIVATIONS, OF THE MAPMAKERS.

THE NH HISTORICAL SOCIETY IS OFFERING A LOOK AT SOME OF THE WAYS MAPMAKERS HAVE DEFINED, AND EVEN ADVERTISED, OUR STATE.
