Portsmouth Doc Asks Schools to Quit Sodas

Drinking sugary sodas can cause you to gain weight. Some doctors also worry the drinks may be linked to a greater risk of bone fractures. Recently Portsmouth pediatrician H. Dixon Turner wrote to school officials in his city, asking them to make sodas and sweetened fruit juices less available to students. He told NHPR?s Trish Anderton he was driven by a range of concerns about kids and sodas.
