Smith Backers Mourn

Supporters of New Hampshire Senator Bob Smith are mourning what they call the end of an era. The colorful two-term Republican was defeated Tuesday night in an unusual primary challenge by Congressman John Sununu. NHPR?s Trish Anderton reports.

Fernald and Benson Secure Nominations

Democrat Mark Fernald and Republican Craig Benson will be their parties' nominees in the race for governor. Both men won over more experienced politicians: Fernald over veteran state lawmaker Bev Hollingworth; Benson, over former US Senator Gordon Humphrey and former State senator Bruce Keough.
