Will Abbott Nominated To Lead DES

Governor Jeanne Shaheen has nominated Will Abbott of Holderness to be the next commissioner of the department of environmental services. While the executive council says it will carefully consider Abbott?s record before rendering judgment?..His chances of being confirmed look good?.And not just because of his long track record as an environmentalist?.He?s also well-known to the GOP controlled council as a loyal republican.

NH Suffers Record Number of Bad Air Days

From Mt Washington's summit to Hampton's beaches to Pack Monadnock, New Hampshire is suffering from intense heat and prolonged high pollution levels.

Officials at the Department of Environmental Services report this week has seen more bad air days than any time in the past twenty years.

Bob Scott is chief air programs manager at D.E.S.

He tells NHPR's Mark Bevis that it's tough to find a place in the state that's not affected.
