NH React to President Bush's "Clear Skies" IdeaBy Doug MacPherson on Wednesday, March 20, 2002.President George W. Bush has introduced a plan he calls "the most significant step America has ever taken" to cut power plant emissions. Bush says power plant emissions contribute to urban smog, acid ran, and numerous health problems for Americans. Many in New Hampshire agree with that assessment. But when it comes to what President Bush has proposed to do in response, the reaction has been polite, and overwhelmingly negative.
