US House Gives Verizon A Green Light on Broadband

This week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a measure that would compel Verizon and other so called, ?Baby Bells? to build high speed internet networks in rural areas. In exchange, These networks would be released from the six year old restrictions that opened local telephone networks to competitors. Proponents say the trade off is worthwhile, but others criticize the plan for giving up too much to the Baby Bells.
