The First Women Mountaineers

In the 19th and early 20th century, they braved social convention, and very unwieldy clothing, to climb the highest mountains in the world. Many of them have been forgotten over time, but their stories are told in a new book, ?Women on High,? published by Appalachian Mountain Club Books. The author is Rebecca Brown, writer, journalist, and NHPR?s North Country correspondent.

Is the Statewide Property Tax Working?

A new report released today shows the statewide property tax may not be working.

The report, published by the New Hampshire Center for Public Policy Studies, shows that wealthier towns still pay more per student for education than poorer towns.

The center's co-director Doug Hall explained the findings to NHPR's Mark Bevis.
