Earlier this week the state Department of Education released the results of its statewide tests for 3rd, 6th and 10th grades.

Some grades were up in some subjects, some were down; but in general the results were reported as satisfactory.

Along with the assessments, however, education officials also released the results of a questionnaire that may spark discussion on local school boards.

Tim Kurtz is the DOE's director of state assessments.

He described some of the findings to NHPR's Mark Bevis.
