Falls Colors are a Little Drab This Year

We may want to keep this a secret from southern leaf peepers, but if you've been traveling across New Hampshire this fall, you may have noticed that autumn's colors are not quite as vivid as past years.

The reason?

The drought.

Just as it affects living trees, it affects them as they go dormant.

Tufts University biology professor George Ellmore explained the process to NHPR's Mark Bevis.

A Social Change in NH Baseball

Steve Daly is the assistant sports editor at the Nashua Telegraph. He discusses minor league baseball in Nashua and his new book, "Dem Little Bums: The Nashua Dodgers," which chronicles the experiences of the first two black baseball players to ever play on a non-Negro League team. In the late 1940's, they played for the Nashua Dodgers, which was the farm team for the then Brooklyn Dodgers.
