ArchivesHigh Court Rules on JurisdictionBy Mark Bevis on Tuesday, January 8, 2002.New Hampshire's Supreme Court today decided it does have jurisdiction over the school funding case. And the justices say they will consider whether the state must hold schools accountable to provide an adequate education. The ruling comes less than a week after the five Claremont Coalition towns argued their case before the state's high court. Attorney Scott Johnson, the Coalition's co-counsel, explained the court's ruling to NHPR's Mark Bevis Backannounce: Scott Johnson is co-counsel for the Claremont Coalition; he was speaking with NHPR's Mark Bevis. Northeast AG's Reject Bush EPA PlansBy Priscilla Huff on Tuesday, January 8, 2002.New Hampshire's Attorney General was in Washington today. He joined several other northeastern attorneys general to urge the White HOuse not to undermine pollution standards. The Bush Administration's EPA is considering changes to the Clean Air Act cutting requirements that coal fired power plants must install new technology to reduce pollution.
