The Biggest Name in Auto Racing

Mario Andretti is one of the great names in auto racing, but it was a long road to the top. He was born in World War II Italy and his family spent years as refugees. He overcame those obstacles to have a brilliant carreer. His story is told in pictures and words in a new book, "Mario Andretti," by veteran racing journalist Gordon Kirby, who lives here in New Hampshire.

An Opportunity for Eye Exams

Every year New Hampshire optometrists offer free eye exams in the month of March. It is part of VISION USA, an eye care program designed for those who can't afford it. Nationwide, that's about 44 million people according to the American Optometric Association. As optometrist Sarah Hudson tells NHPR's Dan Gorenstein, the more than 14 thousand New Hampshire residents who enrolled last year clearly demonstrate the need.
