But the term has since broadened. In part two of our series, NHPR?s Dan Gorenstein visits with a Manchester woman who was kicked out of her apartment because her family grew.

DNC Primary Plans Affect Power of NH Voters

Over the weekend, the National Democratic Committee voted to allow large states to hold their Presidential Primaries earlier.
New Hampshire will still enjoy its first in the nation status, but as political observer John Milne points out, that status is becoming less important.

Casino Supporters Make their Case

Backers of a proposed casino in Berlin made their case to key lawmakers today. Casino supporters said the facility would give the struggling region a shot in the arm. But critics said a casino was anything but a sure bet.

Keene Sentinel's Former Publisher James Ewing Dies

The former publisher of The Keene Sentinel, James Ewing died Monday after a brief illness. During his nearly four decades at The Sentinel, Ewing turned the paper into a force for government reform and he expanded The Sentinel?s reach to become the regional newspaper of southwestern New Hampshire.

Earlier today, Tom Ewing told NHPR?s Mark Bevis that his uncle, originally from St. Louis, brought two important things to the Granite State.
