The Myth of Monogamy

Anthropologist Margaret Mead said monogamy is the most difficult of marital arrangements. We'll look at how studies of “infidelity” in the animal world might give us insight into why humans stray. Laura’s guests are zoologist David Barash, Ph.D, and his wife Judith Eve Lipton, M.D. a psychiatrist. Together they've written a new book, "The Myth of Monogamy: Fidelity and Infidelity in Animals and People." Parental discretion advised.(Rebroadcast)

State Enters Tristate Drug Purchasing Pool

The Executive council yesterday approved a regional drug-purchasing contract that could save the state millions of dollars in Medicaid related prescription drug costs. As state officials hail the first of its kind program as a triumph, local pharmacists worry it could harm their bottom lines.

Poetry From "The Waiting Room"

Beverly Archibald has been a nurse most of her adult life, specializing in care for the elderly. For several years, she's also been writing poems about life in a nursing home, most of them inspired by the stories of the residents. Her poems have been broadcast on the Keene State College radio station, and are now collected on a CD called "The Waiting Room." The CD is available Peterborough's Toadstool Bookstore.
