Young at Heart: Children?s Author Tomie dePaola

Tomie dePaola is a children?s author and illustrator, and the creator of characters like Strega Nona. Recently, he?s been writing a semi-autobiographical series of ?chapter books,? for older readers. A New Understanding of Elder Abuse

As the nation's population grows older, sociologists warn abuse of the elderly may also increase. The American Psychological Association estimates some 2 million older Americans are mistreated or neglected every year, many by family members. Rene Bergeron is a professor of social work at the University Of New Hampshire. Bergeron says abandonment is the most common kind of mistreatment inflicted by relatives.

Governor Proposes Stricter Water Standards
