A Polluted Pond in Trendy Portsmouth

Some Portsmouth residents are fed up with the pollution and the smell coming from an otherwise picturesque pond in the middle of the city.

In this first of a two-part series on South Mill Pond, correspondent Roger Wood reports on the raw sewage flowing in the center of one of the state's most desirable and expensive places to live.

UNH Professor at Key Global Warming Conference

The Kyoto Protocol talks on climate change are scheduled to begin today in Bonn, Germany. Last week, 1,500 scientists from 100 countries met in Amsterdam in The Netherlands to discuss global warming.

UNH Professor, Berrien Moore chaired on the scientific committees in Holland. Dr. Moore is with university?s Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans and Space.

In an interview with NHPR?s Doug MacPherson, Dr. Moore said there is consensus among the world?s scientific community that global warming and climate change are real.
