Statewide Property Tax Constitutional

New Hampshire's statewide property tax is not unconstitutional. That was the ruling of the state Supreme Court today when it reversed a Rockingham Superior Court ruling.

Portsmouth mayor Evelyn Sirrell, the lead plaintiff in the case, reacted angrily to the news.

State Lawmakers React To Court Decision

Many New Hampshire lawmakers felt relieved today/ (yesterday) that the State Supreme Court upheld the statewide property tax. But others were disappointed in the decision, since it allows the tax to stay in place without major changes. N H P R?s David Darman has more.
