New Hampshire takes part in America Recycles Day

Next week, New Hampshire plans to join states across the country to celebrate the fifth annual America Recycles Day.
The purpose of the event is to increase awareness about recycling.
Marc Morgan is recycling coordinator for the state’s Department of Environmental Services.
He tells NHPR’s mark Bevis that although America Recycles Day is Thursday the 15th, events in New Hampshire begin tomorrow and continue throughout the week.

From a Disposable Lighter to Sustainable Housing

In his younger days, Leandre Poisson was a designer of consumer products. He designed to Grey Poupon mustard jar and the first disposable cigarette lighter. Now, he's working in a very different area, building solar powered houses and living lightly on the earth. NY Marathon Brings Joy to New York

Two months ago, the image of thousands of people running through the streets of New York was the sign of a city and country in distress.
But last Sunday, tens of thousands of runners and fans took back New York's streets for a celebration of endurance.
NHPR's Michelle Dorvillier was there and sent us her thoughts.
