Low-Powered FM Stations To Hit the Air Waves

The FCC has approved 255 low-powered non-profit radio station licenses nationwide. Five of these are in N.H. Low-powered stations have a 100-watt transmitter, reaching a 3-10 mile radius, and are part of the FCC's new program to foster greater public access to the air waves. Commercial broadcasters and National Public Radio vigorously opposed the new plan. New stations may begin broadcasting on January 21 of this year.

A New Hospital for the North Country

The town of Littleton, N.H. has just opened the doors of its new $30 million regional hospital. The facility includes new medical equipment, a VA outpatient clinic, more private rooms and more parking.
